Diplocaulus
This too lived in the swamps of Pangaea, very small animal, 1-3 feet in length and weighed just about 10 pounds. Mainly ate fish and its distinct feature is its boomerang shaped skull. This amphibians skull was believed to be shaped the way it is to be able to swim through the strong current of rivers or to make it seem unappetizing to its larger marine predators. It swam through the rivers at an up and down motion and was often prey to the predators that could deal with swallowing the salamander like animal even with its large head.
