Gastornis
The flightless bird of the paleogene age, like a large ostrich but without feathers. A carnivorous beast that had a very strong beak and legs. This bird is like the mammal version of the Tyrannosaurs Rex, just not as large, it has powerful legs, along with tail and a strong jaw since this was the needed features to survive. Strictly carnivorous this giant bird ate small rodents or small reptiles. There has been some debates whether this bird was actually a carnivore but a omnivore or just a herbivore but nothing fully says whether this is true or not. Based on skeletal structure scientists believe that the gastornis even may have been an ambush animal since it was believed that this animal was very agile.
This animal was believed to have lived in the dense forests of greenland and went extinct after the paleogene period.
